    10/12/2005 - At The Burystead

"Who Stole The Dots?" is mixed and sounds FANTASTIC. Ricardo Odriozola's guitar sounds stunning. The fade-out (where Ricardo really lets loose) is sheer cruelty. Ed said he thought it sounds like there are abut 20 guitars playing - he's not wrong there! We'll make tiny alterations after a day or two's reflection then we'll release it with "Be Somewhere This Christmas".

Spent last night at Stephen's house, The Burystead - I slept in what I jokingly call the Hall Of Spiders (actually the guest bedroom) but the huge gothic window with stone mullions (two cinquefoil lights in two centred arch with dagger tracery to the spandrel), the high ceilings, the raw, old plaster and peeling wallpaper all contribute to conjure a Gormengast-In-The-Isle effect. Earlier we'd been up to the church for a 'technical rehearsal' for Monday and then had a jolly evening scoffing curry and playing with Stephen's new IPAQ.

Thomas Hartlege sent this review of the Mick Stevens re-release.
