Yesterday I went out to dinner at the house of some pals and was introduced to a chap named Doug and we struck up a conversation. Someone mentioned Somewhere In The Foreign Office and Doug was incredibly kind about a SITFO gig he'd been to at Fisher Hall in 1983! He remembered everything - even a song named "He's Our Man Down Montego Bay" that he said was especially catchy. I was shocked and delighted by his comments - they made my heart swell with pride. To know that I'd helped contribute an indelible memory in the mind of someone I wouldn't meet for 23 years seems wonderful to me. I know that many professional musicians eschew and abhor people commending/thanking them for their music - well not bloody me! In fact it makes it all seem worthwhile.
My pal Daniel C has been in touch. Also Jakko, to share a mutual guilty pleasure and to report significant progress on Man-Erg.
