After long silence.....
Italy was an interesting adventure. On the performing side, I had the experience of working very intensively on making a viable duo of vihuela and clavichord (which meant that I was, for a change, the louder partner in an ensemble!), and of giving a short solo recital of Josquin intabulations. On the listening side, I heard lots of clavichord concerts, lots of interesting lectures on various aspects of lute and clavichord, and an inspiring solo recital by Paul O'Dette. It was nice to catch up with Paul again, and he was very kind about my solo performance.
Now my mother is here, making up for lost time with Edie (they hadn't seen each other since Edie was 8 weeks!). They've had a lovely time. Here they are:
