I've been away a lot this summer, but I'm back at it now and will be posting a couple of nice/not-so-nice stories that have been submitted while I was away in the next few days. Thanks for them.

In the mean time, my piece about hitching from Land's End to John O'Groats "So Why Does No One Hitch Any More?" was in the Independent on Sunday a few weekends ago.

Reminded me of the few times I dared to Hitch.

Glad to find your write up of the hitchiking experience. I really like the wistful, yet optimistic tone. I never hitched, but once played a game where I went to the KC airport with $100 to see how far I could get to and back from. It was Detroit. Disappointment turned to something like excitement when I drove north of the city and found some beautiful country, especially Bay City. An adventure is almost always worth having, isn't it?
